CrystalClear Interface 2.7 Supports Lion

Journal Entry: Fri May 4, 2012, 1:33 PM
Last month, I released a major upgrade to CrystalClear Interface... version 2.6. The software has so many new features and enhancements that I actually raised the price from $12 to $18.

However, CCI 2.6 would only work on Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6).

Earlier this week I finished work on CCI 2.7, which brings all the great theming power of version 2.6 to Lion users (specifically, version 10.7.3).

Note: The upgrade is free for users who have purchased a license for CCI prior to May 10, 2012.

Hi, it's nonintuitive, but you must open System Preferences -> Desktop pane. Deselect the checkbox that lets you use transparency in the menubar.

Cheers,
Leland

Hi Leland
I got a question about your iTune Theme Cristal Black.
I followed your instructions and clicked the installapplication.
For your information, I use an iMac and got the Mac OS X Version 10.6.8.
Your App tells me: Could not find iTunes
What´s wrong?
Would appreciate, you´d help me.
Your Theme looks great and now I want it! :-)
Thanks, Heiko

Heya Leland... It was suggested to me to come ask you directly about how to fully uninstal Crystal Black iTunes. I tried to use the uninstaller but the area where the playlists are and if I display my library in list mode, the background color is black.

I have also tried deleting iTunes altogether and reinstalling it to no avail. I have tried switching the color option from dark to light in the prefs, no joy.

Anyway, Thanks for all of your hard work! Let me know if you have any ideas. :)

Hi there,
It sounds like you've toggled a hidden iTunes preference that sets the playlist and track listings backgrounds to black, with white text. The preference is called "high-contrast-mode-enable", and if you set it to true, you get the black backgrounds.

To change it back, either use one of the many third-party apps that let you fiddle with hidden settings (I use a free preference pane called Secrets myself), or open Terminal and type:

defaults write com.apple.iTunes high-contrast-mode-enable -bool NO

Cheers,
Leland

P.S. I don't think the Crystal Black iTunes skin changes this setting on its own, though it is a setting you can toggle if using the full Crystal Black theme software.

Yes, I fixed the issue by reinstalling CB Theme, then unchecking the use black backgrounds option. Then I uninstalled it and BINGO! :)

Thanks for the reply!
